SCTEA provides a wealth of benefits to you.

SCTEA encourages professional development and promotes the interests of the SC Technical College System. SCTEA is open to anyone who supports technical education. From technical college employees to area commissioners, foundation members, and community & business leaders, all friends and supporters of technical education are welcome. Membership costs only $5 each year, providing benefits at a nominal price. With tight budgets, SCTEA offers an affordable way for the exchange of ideas. SCTEA hosts an annual conference where members are able to network with their sister institutions. This may be the best opportunity all year for the technical college system to gather and exchange ideas.

SCTEA membership fees support member services and community services, including:

  • The annual statewide conference, with compelling speakers, valuable sessions, informative exhibits, and the opportunity to exchange ideas and information.
  • The Student Community Involvement Awards, which encourages students' involvement in their communities.
  • The Educator of the Year Awards.
  • Retirees' membership offers assistance with retirement planning.

SCTEA - R Coordinating Committee

The Coordinating Committee meets three to four times per year. The Chair typically recommends meeting dates after the SCTEA Executive Board's May/June transition meeting. The Committee meets at the SC Tech System Office in Columbia and meetings start at 10:30 a.m. We offer one or two sessions, geared towards the interests of retirees, at the SCTEA Annual Conference. We also sponsor a Retirees’ Reception on the Thursday afternoon of the Conference and we hold an Annual Business Meeting on the Friday afternoon of the Conference.

Please contact your local SCTEA-R representative or a member of the Executive Committee for the latest information.
